Navan Taekwon-Do School had a terrific weekend at the INTA Open. 23 students to home 20 medals. Some07022011410.jpg competed for their very first time, others experienced competitors in black belt divisions.

The tournament saw teams from England, Scotland, Sweden and Ireland compete in Dublins National Basket Ball Arena.

The event went extremely well, each coach was given a schedule of rings with division and times which ensured everyone new where to go to compete and roughly what time to be there, this took alot of pressure off coaches and relaxed the competitors. Navan TKD coaches, black belts Sally Deans, and Niamh McKeever ensured the juniors were prepared for their bouts and advised them on the best tactics.

Sunday saw Sally Deans and Nicola Bergin compete in both patterns and sparring. Senior sparring was 'round robin' in which Nicola competed against Irish team competitors Sabina Mason, Louise McCagh and a Kerry- Ann from Scotland. Tough bouts but great experience.

Well done to everyone, and congratulations to Colm Ryan, INTA Tournament Director and the organising team on a great event.
